Impact story

Stories intrigue the field of Knowledge Management. Employing stories in both personnel and stakeholders communication is currently being recommended in several best practice guides on effective knowledge transfer and leadership communication. The aims of this article are to present further understanding of the impact of stories, and assess which kind of communication tasks stories are most apt for by considering stories as a medium. This allows for the examination of stories through two interlinked theories: Social Presence Theory and Media Richness Theory. These are found to be limited indicators of media effectiveness and it is suggested that elements of the theories should be broadened to make both theories useful for assessing core media effectiveness, although it is recommended that they be combined with other modes of evaluation to achieve thorough assessment of media impact.

Asma Begum is such an exemplary member of Epyllion Group. Throughout her journey for long 18 years in Epyllion, she has evolved herself into a successful individual. Her continuous effort, learning agility, and risk-taking behavior has paved her way from an Operator to Senior Line Chief.

In the early childhood, her life was full of downfalls and sorrows. Belonging from a middle-class family she had to stop her education when poverty stricken her life due to the massive loss for river erosion. Her life took a major turning point when she joined Epyllion. Within a short span of time, her work started to become visible. Her praise worthy work, started to gain the trust of the seniors. Her spirit and can-do approach enabled her to develop ownership and decision-making ability. And now she is in a position that she is leading two sewing lines as a Senior Line Chief.

Meet Ms. Rashida, a beacon of hope who has endured many challenges to be where she is right now. She has proven through her passion, dedication and effort that faith and hope always sustains.

Ms. Rashida started her career with Epyllion Group as a Technician in 2006. Since then, she has been extra cautious to ensure minimum struggle and happiness of her family. She is currently working as a Senior Officer in Product Development Center. Though it was full of challenges, her firmness towards hard work & ‘choose to challenge’ attitude has brought her to current position, a team leader. She has rightly proven that women possess the necessary capacity to perform and stand out.

On this International Women’s Day 2021, like Ms. Rashida, hundreds of women from RMG industry are in solidarity to encourage all the women of the world to “Choose to Challenge” in order to become equal partners in a bias-free world.

A B M Shajedur Rahman (Mithu) the COO of Garments Division, has hit a new score of his tenure with Epyllion recently. He joined in 2001 as a Merchandiser and now is leading as a top executive of the Management. He is a result-oriented leader and strategic thinker.

Meet Ms.Fariha, the Role Model of many women who aspire to move their career forward and achieve the ladder of success. Ms. Fariha started her career with Epyllion Group at the entry level in industrial Engineering Department. It is not a very easy task to observe minutely how the needle and motion can have the optimum calibration.

Process, Efficiency, Innovation, Improvement are at the core of her work. She enjoys what she does and is passionate about making her footprint glow in the RMG industry . She is now in a lead role of Operation in one of the signature production units of the group. Three cheers for her.
